About

Kieran Bennett

Artist, illustrator, designer.

Kieran learned by “looking and doing”, on all “practical levels”, on sites and in drawing studios.

He learned by practical work experience and a “bit” of college: he “was not a fan of sitting still in a crowded classroom and being told what to do”.

“Like a sponge, absorbing quietly all that was told to him by his mentors.”

Kieran “always learned and developed by one-to-one teachings, and reading the relevant books”. “Like a sponge, absorbing quietly all that was told to him by his mentors”, and then pouring it out on paper on his trusty drafting table.

Kieran works now in art and illustration, producing watercolours, ink, pencil, oils and acrylics: images of nature, landscapes, seascapes, streetscapes, faces and places, and architecture, mainly of West Cork and Cork City. Kieran also accepts commissions, in many mediums.

Born on Blackrock Road, Bantry, Co. Cork, Ireland, in 1962, Kieran is a father of four wonderful children and six wonderful grandchildren. A true West Cork and Cork man.

“I am very grateful to those from whom I learned.”Kieran Bennett
